Accountability

Financial Transparency

Every contribution to Caribbean Canine Academy supports the training, care, and placement of service dogs for children, veterans, and adults in Puerto Rico. We believe donors deserve to know exactly where their gift goes.

Where contributions go

Program costs are concentrated in the dog and the family.

  • Selection, health screening, and veterinary care for each dog
  • Professional training across foundation, public access, and task-specific work
  • Family matching, in-home placement, and follow-up support
  • Equipment, vests, insurance, and safety review
  • Program administration and the facility that makes training possible

Restricted and unrestricted gifts

Gifts designated for a specific dog or a specific stage of the service dog journey are applied to that purpose.

Unrestricted gifts are applied where the need is greatest, which is usually veterinary care, training hours, and family support during placement.

Records and review

Caribbean Canine Academy maintains records of contributions and program expenditures and provides written acknowledgment for donations.

Sponsors, Act 60 grantees, and their advisors may request a program and financial summary for their review.
